What's reishi
Ganoderma lucidum — known as Lingzhi (灵芝) in Chinese, Reishi in Japanese, Yeongji in Korean — has been the most revered functional mushroom in East-Asian herbal tradition for over 2,000 years. Classified in the Shennong Ben Cao Jing (c.200 BC) in the highest tier of traditional medicinal substances — those that nourish life and can be taken long-term without harm — it was historically reserved for emperors and nobility, associated with longevity, inner harmony, and overall vitality. Three independent East-Asian herbal cultures across thousands of years converging on the same mushroom as the most valuable in existence.
Gribb grows Reishi on their own certified-organic farm in Portugal under PT-BIO-10 and dual extracts it to a 10:1 ratio — hot water to release the water-soluble beta-glucans and polysaccharides, and organic alcohol to capture the triterpenoids (ganoderic acids) that hot-water-only extraction cannot reach — making each 2,000mg serving equivalent to 20,000mg dehydrated fruiting body, standardised to 32–40% beta-glucans (β1,3/β1,6). It means the mushroom is extracted twice using two different solvents. First, hot water pulls out the water-soluble compounds — primarily beta-glucans and polysaccharides. Then, organic alcohol extracts the fat-soluble compounds — including riterpenoids — that hot water cannot reach.
