Pure and Certified Organic Agaricus Blazei — known as "Cogumelo do Sol" in Brazil and "Himematsutake" in Japan — grown in Portugal. 10:1 dual extracted.
For daily vitality and wellbeing — from a rare and distinctive mushroom now grown on farm.
What's agaricus blazei
Agaricus subrufescens — Agaricus Blazei — is native to the Atlantic forest highlands of São Paulo, Brazil, where it is known as "Cogumelo do Sol" (Mushroom of the Sun) and was traditionally used by communities in the Piedade region for generations. In 1965 it was brought to Japan and within a generation had become "Himematsutake" (Princess Mushroom) — one of the three most consumed functional mushroom supplements in Japan alongside Reishi and Shiitake, the subject of decades of research into its uniquely rich polysaccharide and proteoglycan content.
Gribb grows Agaricus Blazei on their own certified-organic farm in Portugal under PT-BIO-10 and dual extracts it to a 10:1 ratio — each 2,000mg serving equivalent to 20,000mg fresh fruiting body — naturally delivering beta-glucans (β-1,3/β-1,6), the species-exclusive proteoglycan FIII-2-b, and ergosterol, standardised to 32–40% beta-glucans (β1,3/β1,6).

Powder vs capsules — which is right for you
Powder
Best for: smoothie and drink ritualists
Stirs or blends invisibly into any food or drink. Flavour-neutral. Works in smoothies, matcha, yogurt, oat porridge, cacao. Maximum versatility.
Capsules
Best for: no-fuss daily supplement takers
Vegan HPMC (pine fibre). 2 capsules daily with water. Same formula, same dose — for people who want the benefit without integrating powder into their routine.
Ideal for
- You want a functional mushroom with herbal heritage across two continents — something most supplement ranges don't carry Brazilian Atlantic forest herbal tradition and Japanese mushroom culture independently recognised and valued Agaricus Blazei. It is one of the three most consumed functional mushroom supplements in Japan, yet barely known in Europe. Gribb is one of very few European producers growing it from whole fruiting body in-house.
- You want the species-exclusive proteoglycan FIII-2-b found only in Agaricus Blazei FIII-2-b is a proteoglycan complex — protein and carbohydrate bonded together — found exclusively in Agaricus subrufescens and not present in any other common functional mushroom. It has been the subject of significant research interest in Japanese nutritional science for decades. No other mushroom in the Gribb range contains it.
- You want powder to blend or capsules for daily convenience — same rare formula, your choice The powder has a naturally mild, slightly nutty, almond-like character — the most pleasant-tasting single-mushroom powder in the range. The capsules are two a day with water. Both deliver 2,000mg of dual extracted 10:1 certified-organic Agaricus Blazei, equivalent to 20,000mg fresh fruiting body per serving.

- Capsules: Take 2 capsules (2,000mg) daily with a glass of water.
Best taken consistently as part of a daily routine. Most people notice changes in skin hydration and texture after 3–4 weeks of consistent use.
What to expect
Ritual beats intensity. Same time, every day. That's the whole game.
WEEK 1–2
Your body is absorbing and adjusting to the blend. The functional mushrooms
and adaptogenic botanicals need time to build in your system — most people
notice little change yet and that is completely normal. Stay consistent.
WEEK 3
This is usually when subtle shifts begin. Days feel slightly more even. The
afternoon dip that used to derail you starts to feel less sharp. Not a spike —
a steadier floor.
MONTH 1+
The cumulative effect. Most people at this point notice the difference on the
days they forget to take it. The vitality feels like yours — not something
borrowed from caffeine.

prevent any disease.
Why dual extraction matter
Most functional mushroom products use a single extraction — which means they only capture part of what this mushroom has to offer.
Gribb's tincture uses a dual-extraction process: first with hot water to release the water-soluble beta-glucans, then with organic alcohol to extract the fat-soluble compounds. The two extracts are then combined into a single, full-spectrum liquid. It's a more time-intensive method — and the reason this tincture delivers what a capsule or powder alone cannot.

Frequently Asked Questions
Agaricus Blazei (Agaricus subrufescens) is a mushroom native to the Atlantic forest highlands of São Paulo, Brazil, known locally as "Cogumelo do Sol" (Mushroom of the Sun). In 1965 it was brought to Japan by researcher Takatoshi Furumoto. Within decades it had become "Himematsutake" — the Princess Mushroom — and one of the three most consumed functional mushroom supplements in Japan alongside Reishi and Shiitake. Hundreds of thousands of people in Japan consume it daily and it has been the subject of decades of nutritional science research, particularly around its unique polysaccharide and proteoglycan content. In Europe it remains largely unknown — Gribb is one of very few European producers growing it from whole fruiting body in-house.
FIII-2-b is a proteoglycan — a molecular complex of approximately 43% protein and 50% carbohydrate — that is exclusive to Agaricus subrufescens. It has not been identified in any other common functional mushroom. It has been the subject of significant research interest in Japanese nutritional science, with studies examining its biological properties conducted at major Japanese research institutions. The fact that it exists only in this species is part of what makes Agaricus Blazei nutritionally distinctive from every other mushroom in the Gribb range — not just different in proportion, but different in kind.
Yes — every mushroom in this kit is grown in our own certified-organic urban farm in Portimão, Portugal. We grow them ourselves from spore through to harvest. Nothing is imported from third-party suppliers or rebranded from elsewhere.
Our production is certified organic by NATURALFA (PT-BIO-10) and every batch is third-party tested before it ships. Full traceability from farm to your door.
It means the mushroom is extracted twice using two different solvents. First, hot water pulls out the water-soluble compounds — primarily beta-glucans and polysaccharides. Then, organic alcohol extracts the fat-soluble compounds — including riterpenoids — that hot water cannot reach.
The two extracts are combined to create a single full-spectrum tincture. It's more labour-intensive than single extraction, but it produces a significantly more complete product.
It means 10kg of raw mushroom is concentrated down to produce 1kg of extract powder. So each 2g serving of Gribb's powder is equivalent in potency to 20g of the raw whole mushroom.
This concentrated format ensures every dose delivers a meaningful, standardised amount of beta-glucans and bioactive compounds — not just mushroom powder with unknown potency.
Agaricus Blazei has a naturally mild, slightly nutty, faintly almond-like character — one of the most pleasant-tasting functional mushroom powders available. Unlike Reishi (distinctly bitter) or Chaga (earthy), Agaricus Blazei is almost neutral to subtly pleasant. It blends well into warm drinks, smoothies, or anything with a mild base flavour. The almond-like note comes from naturally occurring benzaldehyde in the fruiting body — a compound also found in almonds and cherries.
Yes — Agaricus Blazei appears in both the 8 Mushroom Master Blend (powder, capsules, and tincture) at 12.5%. Taking the standalone powder or capsules will increase your total daily Agaricus Blazei intake beyond what the blend provides. This is the appropriate approach if you specifically want the higher per-species dose of this mushroom — for its unique FIII-2-b proteoglycan profile or its dual-continent herbal heritage — alongside the broader blend.
If you already have a morning smoothie, matcha, or yogurt ritual — the powder is the obvious choice. It blends invisibly and adds zero preparation time.
If you'd rather not think about it at all, the capsules are exactly what they are: 2 capsules daily with water, done. Both contain the same extract at the same dose. The choice is purely about how you prefer to take it.
Yes — is designed for daily use as part of a consistent wellness routine.
As with any supplement, if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, have a medical condition, or are taking medication, please consult your healthcare provider before starting. This is a food supplement, not a medicine, and is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease.
Yes. Every mushroom used in Gribb's Lion's Mane tincture is grown on Gribb's own certified-organic farm in Portugal — certified under PT-BIO-10. No third-party mushrooms are ever used, which means full traceability from spore to bottle. Every batch is lab-tested for beta-glucan content and purity before it leaves the farm.
