Pure and Certified Organic Mesima mushroom extract grown in Portugal.
Mesima or Sang-hwang is one of East Asia's most revered functional mushrooms — and one of the world's least discovered.
For a supported gut & easy digestion.
What's mesima
Phellinus linteus — known across East Asia as sang-hwang, meaning "mulberry yellow" — is one of the most historically revered functional mushrooms in Korean and Japanese herbal traditions. While Reishi and Lion's Mane have become familiar names in Western wellness, Mesima has remained a quieter discovery: prized by those who know it, overlooked by those who don't. Yet.
Gribb cultivates Mesima on their own certified-organic farm in Portugal — one of the very few European producers growing this mushroom in-house. Their tincture uses a double extraction method, combining hot water extraction to unlock water-soluble beta-glucans with organic alcohol extraction to capture the fat-soluble compounds that a single extraction leaves behind.
The result is a full-spectrum extract standardised to 32–40% beta-glucans (β1,3 and β1,6).
Flavour-neutral and fast-absorbing, it works sublingually for rapid uptake, or drops invisibly into any drink — coffee, tea, juice — without altering the taste. Simple to take. Exceptional in origin.
This product is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease.
Ideal for
- Your gut is where your immunity starts — and you treat it that way — Mesima has been used in East-Asian tradition for digestive balance and gastrointestinal comfort for over 2,000 years. Its beta-glucans support the gut-immune axis from the inside out.
- You want whole-body resilience, not just a quick fix — from liver-protective hispidin to antioxidant polyphenols that fight oxidative stress, Mesima works across multiple systems simultaneously.
- You're building long-term immunity, not chasing trends — sang-hwang has been in traditional medicine since the Han dynasty. The research is decades deep. This is not a newcomer.

What to expect
Ritual beats intensity. Same time, every day. That's the whole game.
WEEK 1–2
Your body is absorbing and adjusting to the blend. The functional mushrooms
and adaptogenic botanicals need time to build in your system — most people
notice little change yet and that is completely normal. Stay consistent.
WEEK 3
This is usually when subtle shifts begin. Days feel slightly more even. The
afternoon dip that used to derail you starts to feel less sharp. Not a spike —
a steadier floor.
MONTH 1+
The cumulative effect. Most people at this point notice the difference on the
days they forget to take it. The vitality feels like yours — not something
borrowed from caffeine.
For informational purposes only. Not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or
prevent any disease.
Why dual extraction matter
Most Lion's Mane products use a single extraction — which means they only capture part of what this mushroom has to offer.
Gribb's tincture uses a dual-extraction process: first with hot water to release the water-soluble beta-glucans, then with organic alcohol to extract the fat-soluble compounds. The two extracts are then combined into a single, full-spectrum liquid. It's a more time-intensive method — and the reason this tincture delivers what a capsule or powder alone cannot.

Frequently Asked Questions
Gribb's Organic Mesima Mushroom Tincture is a certified-organic, double-extracted liquid supplement made from 100% whole fruiting body Phellinus linteus — known in East-Asian herbal traditions as sang-hwang — grown on Gribb's own farm in Portugal.
The double extraction process combines hot water extraction (for water-soluble beta-glucans) with organic alcohol extraction (for fat-soluble compounds), producing a full-spectrum tincture standardised to 32–40% beta-glucans (β1,3 / β1,6).
The product contains 20–30% organic alcohol and spring water. Each 50ml bottle provides approximately 50 daily servings at 1ml per dose. The tincture is flavour-neutral, vegan, and certified organic under PT-BIO-10. It can be taken sublingually or added to any drink.
No third-party mushrooms are used at any stage of production. Also available in powder and vegan HPMC capsule form.
Mesima — Phellinus linteus — is known as sang-hwang in Korean and Japanese herbal traditions, where it has been one of the most highly regarded functional mushrooms for centuries.
In the West, it has remained largely unknown outside of specialist wellness circles, partly because it is difficult to cultivate and rarely grown in Europe. Gribb is one of very few European producers growing Mesima in-house.
If you've explored Reishi and Lion's Mane, Mesima is the natural next discovery.
Yes — every mushroom in this kit is grown in our own certified-organic urban farm in Portimão, Portugal. We grow them ourselves from spore through to harvest. Nothing is imported from third-party suppliers or rebranded from elsewhere.
Our production is certified organic by NATURALFA (PT-BIO-10) and every batch is third-party tested before it ships. Full traceability from farm to your door.
It means the mushroom is extracted twice using two different solvents. First, hot water pulls out the water-soluble compounds — primarily beta-glucans and polysaccharides. Then, organic alcohol extracts the fat-soluble compounds — including riterpenoids — that hot water cannot reach.
The two extracts are combined to create a single full-spectrum tincture. It's more labour-intensive than single extraction, but it produces a significantly more complete product.
Beta-glucans (β1,3 and β1,6) are the primary bioactive polysaccharides found in functional mushrooms, and they're what most of the research into mushroom wellness focuses on.
The standardisation to 32–40% beta-glucans tells you that every batch of Gribb's tincture contains a consistent, meaningful amount of these compounds — not just mushroom powder of unknown potency.
It's the difference between a functional product and a decorative one.
Yes — the tincture contains 20–30% organic alcohol, which is a natural part of the dual-extraction process and acts as a preservative. At a standard dose of 1ml, the alcohol content is extremely small.
If you prefer to minimise even that amount, you can add the drops to a hot drink, which causes most of the alcohol to evaporate quickly.
Gribb's Lion's Mane tincture is essentially flavour-neutral — it has a very faint, earthy undertone at full concentration, but once added to a coffee, tea, juice, or smoothie it's undetectable. It's designed to slot into whatever you're already drinking without changing the experience.
Take 1 full dropper (1ml / approx. 20 drops) up to twice daily. For fastest absorption, hold it under the tongue for 30–60 seconds before swallowing. Alternatively, add it directly to any hot or cold drink. Most people find the easiest approach is to add it to their morning coffee or tea — it becomes habit immediately and you never forget a dose.
Each 50ml bottle contains approximately 50 daily servings at the recommended 1ml dose. At once daily, that's roughly 7 weeks. At twice daily, approximately 3–4 weeks.
Yes — this tincture is designed for daily use as part of a consistent wellness routine.
As with any supplement, if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, have a medical condition, or are taking medication, please consult your healthcare provider before starting. This is a food supplement, not a medicine, and is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease.
Yes. Every mushroom used in Gribb's Lion's Mane tincture is grown on Gribb's own certified-organic farm in Portugal — certified under PT-BIO-10. No third-party mushrooms are ever used, which means full traceability from spore to bottle. Every batch is lab-tested for beta-glucan content and purity before it leaves the farm.
